In 1950's Ireland, a forward thinking Patrick Meade recognised that pasta was a food not yet widely available in Ireland.
Around this time, Patrick was introduced to Antonio Nico, an Italian who sold his own brand of pasta to grocery shops around Dublin. Between them they decided to set up the Dublin Macaroni Company on Blessington Street. The business name was later changed to Roma Foods and one of the most successful brands in Ireland was born.
With television and travel the Mediterranean diet became more popular and Roma was at the forefront of bringing new Mediterranaen products to the Irish consumer.
Today Roma is owned by Valeo Foods and is one of Ireland’s best known brands.
With over 80 different products, the brand is the leading supplier of authentic pasta, tomatoes, olive oil and rice among others. Roma truly is Ireland's Number 1 supplier of authentic Mediterranean ingredients.
